Terms and Conditions: Repair Warranty
1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Jonathan Fry Automotive Ltd ("the Workshop") for automotive repair, maintenance, or any other services, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions regarding the warranty provided for our services.
2. Warranty Coverage
2.1. The Workshop warrants that all repair and maintenance work performed on the Customer’s vehicle will be free from defects in workmanship for a period of 12 or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, starting from the date the vehicle is returned to the Customer.
2.2. Parts installed by the Workshop are warranted against defects for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, unless otherwise specified by the part manufacturer’s warranty, which may supersede this term.
2.3. This warranty applies only to the specific repairs or parts installed by the Workshop and does not extend to the overall condition of the vehicle or unrelated components.
3. Warranty Conditions
3.1. The warranty is valid only if the vehicle is maintained and operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and standard automotive care practices.
3.2. All parts used in repairs must be supplied by the Workshop. Repairs involving customer-supplied parts are excluded from this warranty (see separate Terms and Conditions on Parts Supply).
3.3. The Customer must present the original invoice or proof of service from the Workshop to make a warranty claim.
4. Warranty Exclusions
4.1. This warranty does not cover:
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, or improper maintenance by the Customer or a third party.
  • Normal wear and tear of parts or components.
  • Repairs or modifications performed by anyone other than the Workshop after the initial service.
  • Pre-existing conditions or issues not addressed in the original repair.
  • Consequential damages, such as loss of use, towing costs, or rental car expenses, unless required by applicable law.
4.2. The warranty is void if the vehicle is used for hire and reward, racing, off-road activities, or other extreme conditions not consistent with normal use, unless the repair was specifically designed for such purposes.

5. Warranty Claims Process
5.1. If the Customer believes a repair or part covered under this warranty has failed, they must contact the Workshop within the warranty period and return the vehicle for inspection.
5.2. The Workshop will inspect the vehicle and determine if the issue falls under the warranty coverage. If covered, the Workshop will repair or replace the defective workmanship or part at no additional cost to the Customer.
5.3. Repairs under warranty must be performed by the Workshop; no reimbursement will be provided for repairs conducted elsewhere without prior written approval.
6. Limitations of Liability
6.1. The Workshop’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective workmanship or part.
6.2. The Workshop is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from a warranty claim, except where prohibited by law.
7. Transferability
7.1. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original Customer and vehicle for which the repair was performed.
8. Manufacturer Warranties
8.1. For parts supplied by the Workshop, the Customer may also be entitled to additional coverage under the part manufacturer’s warranty. The Workshop will assist in facilitating such claims where applicable, but the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty prevail.
9. Changes to Terms
9.1. The Workshop reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of significant changes in writing or via posted updates at the Workshop premises.
10. Governing Law
10.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kingston upon Hull.
