Terms and Conditions: Parts Supply and Service
1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Jonathan Fry Automotive Ltd ("the Workshop") for automotive repair, maintenance, or any other services, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Prohibition on Customer-Supplied Parts
2.1. The Workshop does not permit customers to supply their own parts for use in any repair, maintenance, or service work performed on their vehicle.
2.2. This policy ensures the quality, compatibility, and reliability of parts used, as well as compliance with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
2.3. All parts required for services will be sourced and supplied directly by the Workshop from reputable suppliers.
3. Rationale for Policy
3.1. Customer-supplied parts may lead to issues such as improper fit, poor quality, or lack of warranty, which could compromise the safety and performance of the vehicle.
3.2. The Workshop reserves the right to maintain professional standards and cannot guarantee work performed with parts not supplied by us.
4. Exceptions
4.1. Exceptions to this policy may be considered at the sole discretion of the Workshop management, provided prior written approval is obtained.
4.2. If an exception is granted, the Customer assumes full responsibility for any issues arising from the use of their supplied parts, including but not limited to defects, compatibility problems, or subsequent damage to the vehicle.
4.3. The Workshop may charge additional fees for labour or handling related to customer-supplied parts, if approved.
5. Refusal of Service
5.1. The Workshop reserves the right to refuse service if the Customer insists on using their own parts without prior approval or if such parts do not meet the Workshop’s quality standards.
6. Warranty and Liability
6.1. Work performed with Workshop-supplied parts is covered under our standard warranty terms, as outlined separately.
6.2. No warranty, express or implied, will apply to work performed with customer-supplied parts, and the Workshop will not be liable for any damages, failures, or additional repairs resulting from their use.
7. Parts Costs
7.1. The cost of parts supplied by the Workshop will be included in the service estimate or pro forma invoice provided to the Customer.
7.2. The Customer will be informed of parts pricing prior to the commencement of work, where feasible.
8. Changes to Terms
8.1. The Workshop reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of significant changes in writing or via posted updates at the Workshop premises.
9. Governing Law
9.1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kingston upon Hull.
